Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review

Hello Everyone!

If anyone ever asked me, what is that one product I have, but never care about; then I would say Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow. I had owned a couple of these bad boys for over two years, but I didn’t bother to play with – until now…

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tatto Eyeshadow

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is 24-hour wear cream – gel shadow. With the ink like technology, the pigment of these shadows appears intensively and vibrant upon the eye. With the long-wearing ability, it’s crease-proof, and never going to fade. There are a total of ten shades and each shade is retail for $7. Five of the colors are pretty natural, and the other five are high – impact fashionable shades. Remember – I got these more than two years ago, which is when they first launched. Their availability wasn’t as much because I recall running to five different drugstores just to collect six colors.

Too Cool is a frosty cool white with a hint of pink pearl. This shade is a perfect color to be used as a primer or a base. It makes almost any color stand out vividly. The downside of using this color as a base is that it dries very fast, so I have to work as fast as I can. Otherwise, it will be much harder to blend, and it will crease within hours.

Painted Purple is a vibrant, shimmering violet. This shade is one of my favorite colors among all, the one that I own. I find this color looks best when it is worn alone. It gives my eyes a pop of color, but still soft enough to wear it daily.

Edgy Emerald is a bold green with a little with pearly pink. This color I barely use.

Bold Gold is yellow gold with a metallic finish. This is my least favorite color. The color doesn’t seem to fit any of my needs. And with the high – shine and glittery texture, it makes my eyes a little irritated.

Bad to the Bronze is a metallic bronze. This is also one of my most favorite colors. The boring looking bronze makes my eye pop but in a very moderate way. Under my glasses, it kind of gives me a cool reflection. The reflection of now you see… now you don’t kind of thing – pretty cool huh!

Audacious Asphalt is a midnight gray with a metallic finish. I love this color because it can be used in different ways. It works perfectly as a base or a standalone for the sexy, edgy smoky look or it can be used as eyeliner.

My Review

I felt so bad for taking these eye shadows for granted. They are like a MUF Aqua Cream mix into a Mac Paint Pot, except for the fraction of the price. The color payoff of each of the shadow is extremely pigmented. As I was playing with them, I realize how long-lasting they can be. I swatch some of the colors on my hand, and literally, it would move anywhere once the color is set. I have to use a waterproof makeup remover to remove it.

Since all of my Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadows are old, some of the colors in the pot are being to shrink; the edges are no longer attached to the pot. The color payoff is not as great to compare to when I first purchase it, but it still works fine. I know it survives a lot better than some of the higher – end cream eye shadow. I leave it un – touch for six months, and they had dried out.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow can be applied with a finger, a small synthetic eye shadow brush, or an angle brush (eyeliner). I like to wear these shadows in different ways. It can be used as a standalone as an eye shadow, or eyeliner.

Sometimes I even used them as an eye shadow base, just to make my powder shadows look more intensive. There not a lot of blending needed, when I only one shade at the time. However, when I try to mix two-color or more than it that blendable.

If you haven’t tried these shadows, I suggest you run to your local drug-store when you have a chance. Don’t be like me and underestimate them. You will be upset to know you haven’t tried them soon. For a better deal, check your local Ulta. They always offer the promotion, “Buy 1 get 1 50% off.” I cannot wait to get the whole collection.
